Photography has been my passion ever since I received my first camera for Christmas at the age of 11 — a Nikon EM. I spent every bit of my pocket money and paper-round earnings on film and developing, and I remember hating the long wait for the results to come back from Boots.
Today, in the digital age, images are instantly displayed on the back of the camera, giving you immediate feedback and a good sense of whether you’ve captured the shot you envisioned. While many photographers still choose to shoot on film — which has its own merits and encourages a more considered approach due to cost — digital photography allows far greater freedom to be creative and experimental.
I enjoy all aspects of photography, but I have a particular passion for landscape and astrophotography. Both are technically demanding, yet each offers unique and deeply rewarding experiences.
Based in Dorset, I’m fortunate to live close to the stunning Jurassic Coast, which provides a wealth of inspiring locations to photograph. More recently, I’ve been focusing on studio portraiture, an area that presents its own set of challenges, particularly when working with studio lighting and modifiers.
I’m honoured to have had my work published several times in the national press, and to have been featured in Astronomy Photographer of the Year after reaching the final draw.
